What it is

Big Mac Man drops up to eight burgers into a maze. Pellets make a burger slightly bigger, and when two burgers meet, the bigger one eats the smaller. Burgers close in size bounce off each other instead, and the biggest burgers move a little slower.

Four power pickles sit on every map. A pickle lets any burger eat any other for six seconds, so even the smallest player can turn on the leader.

A round ends when every pellet is gone or one burger is left. The biggest or last burger wins, a short scoreboard shows, and the next map loads. Eaten players spectate until then, and anyone joining late drops into the current map at starting size.

The burgers, mazes, and sound effects are all generated in code. The game takes the player's name from the Games Hub profile and saves lifetime burgers eaten and rounds won back to it.

Highlights

  • ●Four mazes that cycle round after round
  • ●Bots that flee, hunt, and clean up pellets
  • ●Lifetime stats saved to the Games Hub profile

Capabilities

Key features

Size is everything

Pellets grow a burger, bigger burgers eat smaller ones, and close calls bounce.

Power pickles

A pickle lets a small burger eat a bigger one for a few seconds.

Four mazes

The Drive-Thru, The Grill, The Pickle Jar, and The Fry Station cycle round after round.

Bots fill the match

Bots flee what can eat them, hunt what they can eat, and clean up pellets, then give up their slots to people who join.

Lifetime stats

Burgers eaten and rounds won follow a player through the Games Hub profile.

Under the hood

How it works

  1. 1An Express and Socket.IO server owns every position, pellet, and collision, and simulates each match 30 times a second.
  2. 2Browsers send only turn inputs. They interpolate other burgers and predict the player's own burger so turns feel immediate.
  3. 3A canvas client draws the burgers and mazes in code and synthesizes its sound effects with Web Audio.
  4. 4Railway runs the game, which takes names from the Games Hub and reports lifetime stats to it.
