What it is

MyCraft opens from a Games Hub profile into a persistent shared voxel world. Returning players recover the same character, inventory, position, spawn, and builds, while each newcomer begins at a separate safe location.

Progress starts by mining wood for planks, sticks, a crafting table, and a pickaxe. Stone leads to furnaces and iron equipment, then diamond tools and armor; chests, beds, Home Anchors, food, and fuel-driven smelting extend survival.

Creatures, physical drops, death bags, day and night, sleep, torches, gradual cave darkness, and procedural music fill out the world. Friends can request shared travel, while PvP remains disabled.

The TypeScript server owns the world over ws and persists players, inventories, construction, containers, creatures, and checkpoints in PostgreSQL. Three.js and Vite provide the desktop first-person client.

Captured features

Inside the project

Shared Hub identityMyCraft starts at a shared-identity entry screen before the saved character enters the persistent world.

Capabilities

Key features

Persistent shared world

Players, inventories, builds, containers, drops, and world edits survive sessions and service restarts.

Crafting progression

Wooden tools lead through stone, furnaces, smelted iron equipment, and mined diamond gear.

Survival systems

Health, hunger, food, creatures, item drops, death bags, beds, sleep, chests, and Home Anchors shape each trip.

Torch-lit caves

Floor and wall torches illuminate gradually darkening underground spaces and suppress nearby hostile spawns.

Shared Hub identity

The Games Hub profile restores a canonical saved character without a separate MyCraft account for new players.

Under the hood

How it works

  1. 1Vite and Three.js render the first-person voxel world, generated textures, creatures, player feedback, cave lighting, and synthesized music.
  2. 2The browser sends actions over ws to a TypeScript server that owns mining, crafting, combat, creatures, movement checks, and world changes.
  3. 3PostgreSQL durably stores the generated world, player state, inventories, structures, containers, drops, and session checkpoints.
  4. 4Server-side Games Hub verification maps a shared profile to its saved character while keeping legacy accounts separate.
